ABOUT ME

Hello, welcome to my triathlog web page. My name is Jeff Davis and I am training for ironman arizona for 2009. (my first ironman distance). Some say ("my wife") that I am a little addicted to the sport of triathlons, yet I fell if everyone needs some sort of addiction, why not make it a healthy one! I started doing triathlons when I was age 18. I first started them to hang with my friends, but quickly I realized it was more that that! I have done 50 + distances at varying levels and categories (brief stint as a Clydsdale). I have had my up and down years since then (almost 20 yrs ago). Obstacles along the way of life, included college, dental school, marriage, children, minor injuries, etc... yet I always seem to migrate back to my love of training, competing and the overall sport. About a year ago, I weighed 200+ pounds and I decided enough is enough. I started to train more seriously, participated in a awesome tri camp in San Diego (multisports.com), that has modivated me yet again. Although, I am still struggling to keep the weight off and avoid injury. I am a swimmer who happens to tolerate biking and running. I could probably swim 7 days a week, but to be a good triathlete, that is not the best training plan. My ultimate good is to qualify for Hawaii, yet in the meantime I want to finish my first ironman, and continue to enjoy the sport. I look foward to every season and enjoy the friends, crazy hours of time management, and feeling of accomplishment with finishing I get along the way.
